Benedict puppet shadow test

Taking in consideration that is missing his hat, dress and has a hole on the head (where is going the speaker) I am quite pleased with the puppet shadow result.

Arduino installations setup

Having a lot of different connections on each installation (arduino board), it is easier for me to keep a record and facilitate both the setup and code writing/modifications.
No idea if arduino users usually do it, but I thought it will be quite helpful for this and future projects.

Benedict Dress and Hat

Giulia Pecorari (costume designer) is helping me (well, mainly she is gonna do it for me ;-) with the Benedict Dress and Hat.

For this occasion, Benedict will dress his "abito da gran cerimonia" (dress for important ceremony).
At the moment is going to be the first time he is truly confessing his sins without a doubt this dress will be the most appropriate.

The dress & hat are going to be made with an exterior layer (sorry, not sure about the dressing/costume nomenclature) of a creamy 100% silk textile and an interior layer of a dark red textile (no idea the type) + golden ornamentation.

Lighting TVs Cross

Lighting cross system:
1> Parallax Ultrasonic sensor (reads distance between user and cross)
2> Arduino (drives the Dimmer board)
3> Velleman K8064 DC Controlled Dimmer (Convert arduinos 0 to 5V into main 0 to 220V)
4> main hallogen lights (35W)

Confessional booth updates

Updates:
> finished structure + doors (missing closing magnets)
> done 2 hand egg shell paint (missing ceiling, fronts + floor)
> toilet speaker hacked

Todolist:
> toilet seat + user detection mechanism
> user panel (to "drive" the priest)
> lamp holder + velleman dimmer driver
> bathroom lasercuted signs
> wall led writting
> record voices - texts + edit
> MAX patch.

Audio toilet test:
> sec 8 to 11 is playing on the outside speaker, the rest on the speaker inside the toilet.
(On the video is not easy to notice, but in person the sound is quite interesting)

Benedict prototype

Puppet upgrade:
> head hole for speaker
> modeling material to hold the mechanism + make the jowl (yep, the pope is old and a bit fat)
> lycra textile on the chin to cover the light and allow the movement of the mouth.
> holding bar between the trunk and head + cabling holes.

Users are gonna see the puppet from behind (hat + dress) and the shadow from inside the confessional booth, for which reason it doesn't need to have a nice "face finish" (anyway it looks as scarier as the original)

First prototype of Benedict (for the confessional booth) with dc motor to operate the mouth.
At the moment he doesn't have to much to say...
